Sammy the Squirrel and the Special Leaf
In a big park with tall trees and soft green grass, lived a little squirrel named Sammy. He was fluffy, friendly, and full of big dreams.
Sammy wanted to build the best nest ever—one that was warm, cozy, and up high in the tallest tree. Every day, he collected twigs and leaves to build it. He looked for leaves that were soft, strong, and just the right shape.
One bright morning, Sammy saw something shiny on the ground. He ran over and gasped.
“Oh wow!” he whispered. “A golden leaf!”
It was big and beautiful, and it shimmered in the sunlight like magic. Sammy was sure this leaf would make his nest the best in the whole park.
He proudly carried the leaf toward his tree. But on the way, he saw his friend Benny the Bird. Benny looked cold and sad.
“What’s wrong, Benny?” Sammy asked.
“My feathers got wet in the rain,” Benny said. “Now I can’t fly. And I’m so cold.”
Sammy looked at his golden leaf. Then he looked at Benny, shivering.
He took a deep breath and gently wrapped the golden leaf around Benny like a blanket.
“Here,” Sammy said, “this will keep you warm.”
Benny chirped with joy. “Thank you, Sammy!”
That night, Sammy built his nest without the golden leaf. It wasn’t shiny or fancy, but he felt warm inside.
Because sometimes, giving is better than getting.
Moral: A kind heart makes any home special.
