The Sleepy Star
Far above the clouds, in the big night sky, lived a little star named starry. She was small but very bright. Every night, starry shined her light to help children sleep.
But tonight, starry felt tired.
“I’ve been shining all night,” she said with a yawn.
The Moon smiled kindly. “You’ve done a good job, little star. Now it’s time to rest.”
“But who will shine for the dreamers?” starry asked.
“I will,” said the Moon. “You can sleep now.”
starry smiled. She floated into a soft cloud, like a fluffy pillow. She closed her eyes and began to dream—of glowing rivers, flying fireflies, and happy stars dancing in the sky.
Down below, a little girl looked out her window and whispered, “Goodnight, star.”
Even though starry was asleep, she smiled in her dream.
Moral: Everyone needs rest, even stars.
